Exhibit Info

View a traveling World War I poster exhibit, "The Winds and Words of War", on display until December 8, 2009, at Central Library. The posters and prints from the San Antonio Public Library collection feature unique, original lithographs of patriotic images, themes, and messages. The framed posters were created by a group of early 20th century American artists, including Charles Dana Gibson and Norman Rockwell, to build support for the war and to promote volunteerism and recruitment.

This exhibit is part of the library's Honoring Our Country's Veterans and War Industry Workers series. For more details, call (812) 428-8241.

Artist Bio
