West Branch and East Branch were formally dedicated and opened to the public on January 1, 1913. Built with funds donated by Andrew Carnegie, the twin branches were renovated and restored in keeping with their historical architecture in 2003. Both sit in a park-like setting and serve their surrounding neighborhoods. Each has a spacious meeting room, public access computers, and comfortable adult and youth areas. West Branch's lawn is bustling with activity during the market in the summer and serves as a location for the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival in the fall.
