Facts & Stats
Founded in 1911, the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library provides library services for Vanderburgh County residents. In 2006, Vanderburgh County had an estimated population of 173,356 (U.S.
Census Bureau). EVPL is funded primarily with property taxes.
The EVPL is governed by a board of trustees, which is composed of seven members, each serving a four-year term. The board consists of two members appointed by the County Council, two members appointed by the County Commissioners, and three members appointed by the School Board.
