Have a question? Why not ask EVPL via Instant Message (IM)?

Now you can ask a question via Instant Message Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 9:00pm, Friday & Saturday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. During this time you'll be able to interact with an EVPL librarian. We have screen names for AIM, Yahoo, and Windows Live Messenger. We'll be happy to find whatever you are looking for, whether in print or online.

Just a couple of things to note before you get started:

• Any screen names that send IMs containing obscene or harassing language will be blocked.
• We are unable to answer lengthy research questions via IM - for example, a complicated genealogical research question. We are unqualified to provide medical, tax, or legal advice, but will be happy to provide you with appropriate medical, tax, or legal information resources.
• IM Reference is part of our regular reference service, which includes in-person telephone, and email reference services. Sometimes we might be answering all kinds of questions at the same time, so please be patient.

For AIM and Yahoo!, our screen name is AskEVPL. For Windows Live, our screen name is AskEVPL@hotmail.com.

In order to use instant messaging, you'll need a screen name with either AOL, Yahoo, or Windows Live, along with their instant messaging client. Downloadable clients must be downloaded & installed onto your computer, whereas web clients are simply run in your web browser (useful on public computers). Follow the links below to get started!
