Have you ever had this problem -- your teacher/professor has assigned some classic of literature for you to read and by the time you make it to the library all the copies of this book are checked out?!?!   Did you know that you have another option, other than going out and buying it?  Well, YOU DO!

The Literary Resource Center, one of the many databases offered by and accessible from the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library website, has a host of PDF fulltext classic titles ranging from the Odyssey and Iliad of Homer to Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and many, many more that you can download and read right on your computer.... thanks to the wonderful work of Project Gutenburg!  In addition you can find biographies about the authors, literary criticism, and articles about these titles right in the same place.

Check it out!

From the EVPL homepage....

Click on the Research tab

From the Menu on the left select Databases

Choose Category Sequence

Find Literature

Select Literary Resource Center

From home you will be prompted to enter your Library Card Number

Then....Search for the title or author you need!
