Let it Snow!

Today in storytime at Oaklyn we read all about snowmen.  We decided that we really want it to snow this week and to help it along, we sang this song...

I'm A Little Snowman (I'm a little teapot tune)

I'm a little snowman, short and fat (put arms out making a round belly at sides)

Here are my buttons, here is my hat (point to chest, put hands on your head)

When it's cold and icy, I will stay (put hands on hips)

But, when it's hot, I melt away (melt down to the ground)

Here are some great books about snowmen at the library!  Check them out!

Millions of Snowflakes is one of my favorite books.  It is perfect for young children in that it includes counting, and it makes a great finger play, too.
