I have to say I've always been a fan of the 007 franchise of movies. From Sean to Roger, Dalton to Brosnan, I've seen them all. However, until Daniel Craig took the reigns of Her Majesty's most secret assignments I never knew how really great the series could be. This started with the stark realness of the the remake of "Casino Royale" which is for the Bond dynasty what "Dark Knight" was for the Batman series. Royale offered gritty street level chases and the real life shock of what these violent moments in said secret agent's life must feel like. With the newest DVD release "Quantum of Solace" Craig reprises his Bond-on-the-edge with a movie that begins to blend some of the old superhero bond with the new, more human James. All this aside, Quantum brings the action just as hard as Craig's first outing with a few subtle elements fans haven't seen since Q was hookin' it up. Of particular note was the use of the tool all libraries should have, the Microsoft Surface. (What's up Bill & Melinda?) Check out these links to see how cool computers will be some day. Bottom line, cool gadgets, a more roughed-up hero who still gets the job done, and of course all the macking that comes with being the most decorated member of Her Majesty's Secret Service. What else could any would-be-00 ask for?
