Wilco by Wilco

I am not what some would call a music snob. Some of my friends will sit around discussing a particular artist or album using phrases describing the emotion the lyrics project or how the sound of this band was influenced by another. I am not qualified to discuss music in this way. If it sounds good, I like it. There are few bands out there that can do no wrong in my world, and I never fail to buy their latest album.

When I moved to Chicago a few years ago, I was introduced to one of my favorite bands. Chicago-based band, Wilco, has been around for over a decade and they have a dedicated following. Most would describe their sound as alternative rock. Last year, their album Sky Blue Sky was Grammy-nominated for Best Rock Album. Their latest self-titled album was released in June.

If your musical tastes are simple or complex, give any of Wilco's albums a try. Even my more musically "sophisticated" friends enjoy their sound. I promise you won't be disappointed.

You should have called this "Wilco (the blog)."  Some of the haters may not like this album, but it grows on you after muliple listens.  Always remember, "Wilco will love you baby!"

That is probably my favorite song on the album...which is probably why they picked that one to start the album.  I have read some bad reviews of it, but Wilco can do no wrong.

Here's a link to a Fredericksburg Free Lance-Star review of a recent Wilco concert at Wolf Trap. My son took the pictures.

He has more Wilco pictures on his Flickr photostream.
