I am not what some would call a music snob. Some of my friends will sit around discussing a particular artist or album using phrases describing the emotion the lyrics project or how the sound of this band was influenced by another. I am not qualified to discuss music in this way. If it sounds good, I like it. There are few bands out there that can do no wrong in my world, and I never fail to buy their latest album.
When I moved to Chicago a few years ago, I was introduced to one of my favorite bands. Chicago-based band, Wilco, has been around for over a decade and they have a dedicated following. Most would describe their sound as alternative rock. Last year, their album Sky Blue Sky was Grammy-nominated for Best Rock Album. Their latest self-titled album was released in June.
If your musical tastes are simple or complex, give any of Wilco's albums a try. Even my more musically "sophisticated" friends enjoy their sound. I promise you won't be disappointed.
