Make A Beautiful Organza Brooch

Your Transition to Medicare: Get Your Questions Answered

Are you over 50 years of age? Do you have questions about Medicare that you would like answered? Or, would you just like to know what to expect when you reach the age for Medicare?

On Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 PM, Kristin Hood, the SHIP local coordinator from SWIRCA will be at Central Library to offer information and answer questions regarding Medicare. The program, which is part of EVPL’s Savvy Senior Series, will be held in Browning Events Room B. It is free and open to the public.

Living With Cancer

The Savvy Senior Series is presenting "I Can Cope: Living Each Day With Cancer" this Thursday, October 20 at 2:00 PM. This program will be at West River Health Campus at 714 S. Eickhoff Road. The speaker will be Anne Wenderoth from the American Cancer Society.

If you, a family member or a friend are dealing with cancer, please join us and learn important coping strategies and tips.

Safeguarding Your Mental Health

Are you experiencing the stressors of caregiving, personal or family illness, financial difficulties, or loss of a loved one? This week's Savvy Senior Series program may be for you. On Thursday, October 13 at 2:00 PM in Central Library's Browning Events Room B, the National Alliance on Mental Illness will offer a program called "Safeguarding Your Mental Health". During difficult times it is important to take care of your mental health. Come join us and learn some important tips that may help you cope.

Do Your Old Photo's Need Preserving?

The next Savvy Senior Series program is "Preserving & Improving Old Photographs" presented by local author, Mark Soper. This program will be at Leisure Living Apartments on Thursday, September 29 at 10:00 AM.

Mark has requested that you bring old photos you would like to preserve with you to the program. You can also bring a USB drive, blank CD, or blank DVD if you wish.

Come join us to see how you can make sure your photos are appreciated for many years to come.

This event is an Open House for all ages and will be held in the Browning Events Room from 3:00-8:30 PM. No reservations are required and you may stop by anytime and peruse the booths - where the newest technological devices will be displayed. We will have a little of everything from digital cameras, smart phones, laptops to e-readers. The Geek Squad from Best Buy will be there to assist you and answer any questions you may have.
