My Bio
Bufkinite supervises Reference Services at Central Library, and derives great satisfaction from answering those seemingly impossible questions. He's a fan of independent music, home-made entertainment, and simple wholesome food. While acknowledging that there's some good stuff to be found there, he admits that he is, for the most part, television illiterate.
He's a huge admirer of Midwestern poet, essayist and novelist Wendell Berry, and subscribes to Berry's concepts of sustainability over exhaustion, and nurture over exploitation.
He enjoys gardening, playing guitar, singing, and the company of close friends.
He believes that print on paper is still the best way to transmit culture and knowledge from one age to the next.
Outside of and apart from work, he maintains blogs (with greater and lesser degrees of regularity) dealing with politics, reviews, and just plain observations. He's also a bookbinder living in rural Posey County.
