Kids Summer Reading Program

Dig into Reading: Uncover the History of the LibraryMay 20 - July 29

Participate in this year's Summer Reading Program by picking up a reading record during the kickoff at Central on May 19, or any location beginning May 20.

Program Guidelines

  1. Decide if you are going to count minutes or individual books.
  2. You may read on your own or someone may read to you.
  3. Read fiction or nonfiction library books appropriate to your reading level.
  4. Color in a square each time you read for 15 minutes or complete 1 book.
  5. Only books checked out from the EVPL or Book Bus may be counted on the reading record.
  6. To collect reading rewards, read through:
    • Level 1 • 16 books or 4 hours
      Collect coupon & prize entry.
    • Level 2 • 16 books or 4 hours
      Collect coupon & prize entry.
    • Level 3 • 12 books or 3 hours
      Collect coupon & prize entry.
    • Level 4 • 8 books or 2 hours
      Collect coupon & prize entry.
  7. All reading rewards must be claimed by closing time on Monday, July 29. No rewards will be given out after this date.
