If you haven’t taken advantage of the EVPL app, you’re missing out on an easy-to-use digital resource provided by the library. The EVPL app is your one-stop-shop for engaging with content, in-person, and online.

The app makes it especially easy to see which collection includes our digital items. For example, just last week I was talking to a friend in a Facebook group and learned about a television program she enjoyed. This title is New Blood, by BBC.

Excited to explore this new show, I went to place it on hold using the EVPL app. I searched our app for New Blood, and lo and behold, I found out we have the show, as well as many other titles, available on Hoopla!

I was so excited that I went ahead and started streaming the first series immediately. I simply tapped “View in Hoopla” in the EVPL app, and I was immediately redirected to the page in the Hoopla app to begin borrowing episodes. I was able to use the AirPlay feature in my phone to send these videos directly to my television and enjoy a great evening of good television. Your device may allow different features like Chromecast streaming, as well as connecting to digital services on Roku and Amazon Fire TV devices.

In addition to searching our items, you can also find lots of other information about using our app. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Your digital library card
  • Events
  • News (including updates about potential future curbside to-go service and reopenings)
  • Account information, including items on hold and current due dates for checkouts
  • Special hours
  • Links to digital collections
  • Online research resources and databases
  • How to suggest a title for EVPL to add to physical and digital collections
  • A quick way to contact the library
