Through the generosity of Andrew Carnegie, EVPL West opened to the public in January of 1913 as one of Evansville’s two Carnegie Libraries. Situated on one of our community’s picturesque parks, EVPL West can be found on Franklin Street.
Inside our historic walls, you will have access to all the comforts of today with WiFi, public computer access, copiers, and more. Curl up with a good book in one of our reading nooks or host your next gathering in our public meeting space.
Each Saturday during the summer, you can find EVPL team members creating fun experiences for our community at the Franklin Street Bazaar. If weekends are hectic for you, stop in for any one of our programs during the week.
We invite you to explore the history of our beautiful location while soaking up the sunshine at EVPL West!
