Through the generosity of Andrew Carnegie, EVPL West opened to the public in January of 1913 as one of Evansville’s two Carnegie Libraries. EVPL West can be found on Franklin Street, situated on Westside Library Park, one of the City of Evansville’s picturesque parks.
Inside our historic walls, you will have access to all the comforts of today with WiFi, public computer access, copiers, and more. Curl up with a good book in one of our reading nooks or host your next gathering in our public meeting space.
Many events take place just outside our doors, making EVPL West a hub for library programs as well as community festivals and markets. (See information about park use below.)
We invite you to explore the history of our beautiful location while enjoying the historic park at EVPL West!
