At EVPL, we strive to provide the best early literacy resources. From programs, to books, to helpful tips – we want your little one to have a strong foundation for their literacy future. Early literacy is so important for pre-readers! Learning new words, sounds, and numbers are all important skills we practice in every storytime through reading, talking, singing, playing, and writing with our little one. These important skills are essential when learning how to read and developing a solid understanding of the world around them.
In addition to building a foundation for their literacy future, studies have shown that children who are exposed to early learning experiences do better in school, start reading earlier, and show more comprehension in what they have read. 90% of brain growth happens before age 5. Your little one is learning and growing so much in these early years and by incorporating early literacy into their day, they will be more likely to develop the cognitive and pre-reading skills needed to excel in school and in life. EVPL strives to ensure that all children and their caregivers have the tools to build a love of reading and learning.
