EVPL is committed to our community, and through Seasons of Sharing, we have added one more way to create a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.
Each “season” throughout the year, a different community need will be highlighted. The library will partner with different local charities to provide opportunities for our community to give back through donation drives.
Through December, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting donations of hoodies and fleece jackets for Hangers at all eight EVPL locations.
Hangers has requested new or gently-used hoodless or hooded sweaters/sweatshirts or fleece, and/or zip up fleece.

Donations can be brought to any EVPL location through December 30.
Please do not bring any other types of clothing donations other than the items above.
Beginning Monday, July 1, and continuing through Wednesday, July 31, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting donations for the Teacher Locker at all eight EVPL locations.
The Teacher Locker has a Wish List, and items include: notebooks, pencils, paper, glue, scissors, markers, paint, art supplies, decorations, calculators, staplers, and binders.
Library users of EVPL collected several vans full of materials for the Teacher Locker over the last two summers!
According to their website, the Teacher Locker, is a place where EVSC teachers grades Pre-K-12 can receive FREE school supplies for their classroom at no cost to the teacher. The goal is to reduce what teachers spend out of their own pockets for their classrooms.
Beginning Wednesday, May 1, and continuing through Friday, May 31, EVPL will collect donations of swimwear and accessories for Evansville city pools and Burdette Park as part of our next Seasons of Sharing. Items collected will be available at local pools beginning Saturday, June 8.
Suggested donation items include: New with tags* (*For hygiene purposes, the swimwear must be new) brightly-colored swimwear for all ages, swim diapers, flip flops, goggles, unopened sunscreen, and beach towels.
Beginning Wednesday, February 14, and continuing through Friday, March 8, Seasons of Sharing is collecting items for Be Kind for Ollie comfort bags.
Suggested donation items include: blankets, baby wipes, tissues, coloring books, fidget spinners, stress balls, squishy toys, and baby books. You can bring Be Kind for Ollie comfort bag donations to any EVPL location and place them in designated bins.
Be Kind for Ollie’s mission is to help educate the community about hot car deaths. They support grieving families through book donations and serve children through education, health, and other human service initiatives.
Beginning Sunday, October 15, and continuing through Saturday, October 28, Seasons of Sharing will encourage everyone to pledge to donate blood, with a goal of 40 donations. According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
Donations may be pledged online and then made at any time and location convenient for you during the duration of the campaign
If you are unable to pledge a donation, monetary donations can also be made to the American Red Cross.

Beginning Tuesday, February 14, and continuing through Saturday, March 4, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting new and/or unopened baby item donations at all eight EVPL locations to support the work of Little Lambs, Pre to 3, and Community Action Program of Evansville (CAPE). These local resources provide pre-natal and pediatric care while ensuring local babies and their caregivers are supplied with essentials.
Suggested new and/or unopened donations include: Diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo and conditioner, clothes, socks, sippy cups, children’s books, personal hygiene items, incontinence supplies, baby food, and baby formula.
Beginning Wednesday, June 1, and through Monday, July 18, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting donations to the Teacher Locker, which according to their website is a place where EVSC teachers grades Pre-K-12 can receive FREE school supplies for their classroom at no cost to the teacher. The goal is to reduce what teachers spend out of their own pockets for their classrooms.

Through April 30, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting donations for Evansville’s Animal Care & Control, which “is dedicated to promoting citizen and pet safety, promotion of responsible pet ownership, and the reduction of animal overpopulation.”
Items needed for the drive include puppy pads, dog treats, cat and dog food, and other items specified on their Amazon Wish List.
Through December 30, Seasons of Sharing will be accepting donations for Hangers, a clothing resource committed to serving EVSC students in need by providing them everyday living essentials that would otherwise be unaffordable.
Items needed for the drive include winter essentials like new or gently used gloves, scarves, and jackets. The items may also be handmade. Donations can be dropped off in designated bins at any EVPL location.
