Telehealth Visits
Through collaboration with USI and the Deaconess Clinic, beginning May 15, 2023, the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will provide access to library spaces and equipment for the purpose of telehealth appointments.
What is a telehealth visit?
Telehealth visits work by virtually connecting you to a healthcare provider. Telehealth appointments can be as simple as a phone call, or you may be able to use live, two-way audio and video from your phone, tablet, or computer, which allows you to have a real-time face-to-face conversation with your healthcare provider.
How do I schedule a telehealth appointment?
If your healthcare provider offers telehealth appointments, make an appointment by contacting their office. Once you have made an appointment, call EVPL at 812.428.8200 to reserve a space to conduct your telehealth visit.
What can I expect from a telehealth visit?
- When you arrive at the library, let an EVPL staff member know you are there for a telehealth appointment.
- EVPL staff will help set up any necessary technology for the appointment which may include a laptop, headphones, and speakers.
- Connect with your healthcare provider.
- When you finish, let an EVPL staff member know.
Reminders!
- Please arrive early for your appointment and have your patient portal login information with you. (E.g. Deaconess Clinic uses MyChart.)
- EVPL staff can assist in resetting passwords.
- EVPL staff can provide technical support prior to the appointment beginning.
- EVPL staff CANNOT provide support during the appointment.
- Please note that EVPL cannot guarantee complete privacy during your visit. However, we do provide headphones to ensure that only you can hear your doctor.
