EVPL offers many digital collections for you to explore and use, as well as tools to better learn how to use not just our digital collections, but your own technology and navigate life with some virtual assistance. *A star next to a collection title denotes it is not accessible using an eAccess EVPL card. 

From EVPL Collections

Libby is a free app where you can borrow ebooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines from your public library. You can stream titles with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or download them for offline use and read anytime, anywhere. (This app is owned by OverDrive, and was previously branded as OverDrive.) 

Users can access up to 7 titles at once with no monthly borrowing limits.

hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service offered by your local public library that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics, and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV! Titles can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. We have hundreds of thousands of titles to choose from, with more being added daily. hoopla is like having your public library at your fingertips. Anytime. Anywhere. 

hoopla now offers BingePass with access to magazines, Curiosity Stream, The Great Courses (Library Edition), and more.

Users can access 20 titles per month. At times, there are also bonus borrows, which don’t count towards your monthly borrowing limit.

Kanopy* is a video streaming service for quality, thoughtful entertainment. Find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films, and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain. We partner with public libraries and universities to bring you an ad-free experience that can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablets, and online. 

Users can access 20 titles per month.

EBSCO eBooks is provided by the Indiana State Library. The Indiana State Library has added over 75,000 new EBSCO eBooks to INSPIRE. The eBooks are divided into the following collections: K-8, High School and Public Library. These are in addition to the eBooks previously offered in INSPIRE. Learn more about accessing the titles.

TumbleBook Library is an online collection of TumbleBooks – animated, talking picture books that teach children the joy of reading in a format they’ll love. You’ll also find collections of titles for teenagers in TeenBookCloud, and math reinforcement skills for K-6 with TumbleMath.

ComicsPlus offers unlimited, simultaneous access to thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga through your public library.

Digital Services, Databases, and Web Collections 

Here you’ll find various tools and collections that we offer. 

Tutor.com is a fully online tutoring service. You can get a tutor 24/7 in more than 40 subjects including Math, Science, Social Studies, English, AP ® Support, Foreign Languages, and Business. Tutoring sessions take place in our easy-to-use online classroom, which runs in your web browser. 

Access the service at tutor.com/Evansville and enter your library card number to begin. 

EVPL Academy by Niche Academy is your home for tutorials and helpful information on not just EVPL collections, but various web tools and computer programs. You’ll find Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tutorials, as well as information on our digital collections and research databases as well as our Maker Central space and Preservation Studio. New content is added as available, so be sure to check back frequently. 

The EVPL Digital Archive contains images of photographs, postcards, cartoons , and documents representing people, places, and things in and around Evansville, Indiana.  Original images in this collection are from the Indiana Collection, located at Central Library in downtown Evansville, or from local residents. 

Additional digital collections include the Evansville Local History Database, the Browning Genealogy Database, and the Indiana Memory Project. 

Brainfuse JobNow has live, anytime, anywhere job assistance, including up-to-date nationwide and local job search engines, professional resume critique, and proven interview techniques. Experience personalized career center seamlessly integrated with advanced virtual technology to help job seekers of diverse backgrounds and needs. 

Universal Class is EVPL’s newest tool for continuing your education! From Precalculus to Baking Cookies 101, this online course service provides flexible, certificate-oriented learning and self-improvement at no cost. Whether you’re looking to improve something in your personal life, start a new hobby, or get a serious crash course in any industry, Universal Class is for you. Learn more in this blog post. 

INSPIRE is supported by the Indiana General Assembly through Build Indiana Funds, the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, and in partnership with the Academic Libraries of Indiana. Find access to historical newspapers, Academic Search Complete (research database), MEDLINE, Explora, Rosetta Stone, and a wealth of other tools, free from the ISL. 

Consumer Reports is the home of unbiased product ratings and reviews. Find full issue access and website access through our library subscription. Print copies are available in our EVPL locations.  

CreativeBug offers online video arts and crafts workshops and techniques. Learn how to paint, knit, crochet, sew, screenprint, and more with your library card. These videos are especially helpful with our Maker Central space and tools.  

Gale Courses, by Cengage Learning, offers various courses to users free of charge through EVPL. Simply by entering your library card number, you can sign up to participate in a variety of courses. This blog post spotlights some of the new and frequently used courses from the Gale catalog and information on preparing for an online learning experience. 

EBSCO LearningExpress is here to help students and adult learners improve their skills required for academic and career success. Our LearningExpress platforms provide a comprehensive selection of educational resources—including interactive tutorials, practice exams, flashcards, articles, and e-books—for basic skills mastery, academic success, job preparation, and career advancement.
